Yes, I have become so busy that I have fallen behind in writing news events. There have been so many upgrades to the Vine Online that it is hard to remember them all. Here are a couple of key features:
- Calendar - The calendar has been here for a long time, but recently we added recurring events. Presently it is undergoing a major renovation to add the ability to schedule volunteers for events. The volunteers can then log in and see when they are scheduled to work, request a sub, sign up for open slots, etc.
- Subscriptions - The ability was added to many components that allows people to subscribe to the component. When the content of the component is updated, anyone who is subscribed is notified. This is available for News, Blog, and Forum (bulletin board) components.
- Email Updates - Many of the components can now be updated by sending an email to the website. The content of the email is then posted and becomes content on the site. For example, a new Blog entry can be created by simply sending an email that identifies the blog component to be updated. In that case, the blogger does not even have to go to the website.
